I’ve been wanting to run some sort of prize contest giveaway for some time now, I just never really knew what to give away and I also lacked motivation to do so. That is until I received an email from my friend Darla Briggs, who is participating in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure, on Sunday, September 30th, 2007.
I’ve decided to sponsor her and I challenge anyone else to help sponsor Darla in this worthy cause. Darla’s mother is a breast cancer survivor and on September 30th, Darla, her mother, her sister and her daughter (all the Briggs girls) will take part in the event. It is also a special day since Darla’s mother’s birthday is also on September 30th.
I support this cause as well, not just because I love breasts, but because I’ve known far too many women who have been afflicted with breast cancer. Finding a cure for ALL cancers is a cause I can champion.
The Rules: Pretty simple. You don’t need to donate money, although it is appreciated and every $25 (CDN) donated would be worth an additional entry. You get one entry for writing a post about this contest on your blog and make sure to link back to this post. If you don’t have a blog then you must donate a minimum of $25 for a contest entry, I have already donated $100, that’s my challenge. Please ensure to comment on this post so I can contact you via email at the end of the contest (September 1st, 2007). Sponsors will also have special mention on Darla’s sponsor page.
The Prizes: A brand new t-shirt from Cryptic Studios (Size Large) that I received from the Vancouver International Games Summit, a brand new Collector’s DVD Edition of City of Villains MMO - PC game from Cryptic Studios and an autographed 8×10 glossy of Darla from her Exit Gear photo shoot. The Collector’s DVD Edition of COV also includes exclusive in-game items, an art collection book, seven custom-made HeroClix figures including the one exclusive to this edition - Lord Recluse, a collector card and a starter deck found only in this edition, a two-sided poster, first month of play included and a 14-day free trial of City of Heroes and Lineage II.
Support a good cause and win some nice prizes. What could be better? To donate and sponsor Darla, click the CIBC Run for the Cure graphic above.
The contest will run from now and end on September 1st, 2007. I will then have Darla draw the lucky winner. And yes, donations of $25 and up will be tax deductible
Darla Briggs’s Message:
Hi friends, I will be doing the Run for the Cure on September 30th (my Mama’s b’day). This cause is very important to me because my Mother had breast cancer. It’s been almost 5 years that she’s been healthy and cancer free! Please support me and the cause to find a cure for breast cancer. xoxDarla

Cure for breast cancer - good cause. Unlike the cure for HIV, which I believe they will never find.. maybe vaccinate against it but those infected have no chance I think… I might be wrong though, I’m no scientist.
Yes, thank you Leo for taking up the torch for our fun pillows.
A cure for HIV? Hmmm that is a good question. If you look at Magic Johnson then apparently there is a cure for HIV with little to no weight loss or stigma.
Finding a cure for ALL cancers is a great cause, but I might as well start with the breasts
HIV is one of those diseases that, for the most part, is avoidable and largely the cause of human negligence. Doesn’t make it less important to find a cure, but can be controlled if everybody followed safe protocols.
