Tron 2, TR2N, now Tron Legacy out December 2010 in 3D

This long awaited film was completed earlier this year in Vancouver, BC, CANADA. I’m a self admitted sci-fi junkie and I do own the 20th anniversary DVD of the original Tron, back then all the digital effects were done by a company in my home land of Taiwan.

I was supposed to work on the show, I even had a casting for wardrobe, but was never called for a booking. They were looking for 1985 and 2010 looks, so I’m guessing the story will jump around with some flashbacks since Flynn makes his reappearance in this sequel.

Who knew that we would have to wait a whole entire year to see the movie in theatres?
Today Disney released the first official picture from the movie (featuring Olivia Wilde and Garret Hedlund) and the teaser poster.

Also, here’s the teaser poster featuring the new and improved lightcycles.  I kinda liked the TR2N name myself but perhaps Tron Legacy has more meaning to the overall story.  Or perhaps kids nowadays just didn’t get it.

The original was a great movie, I’ll be looking forward to this.
I had the vinyl audio version of Tron and listened to it enough as a kid to memorize it and can still quote a good portion of the first few minutes.

I remember seeing the first Tron in cinema. I’m looking forward to see this one, I hope that its gonna be totally different movie from the first part, because every other solution is for me just like kicking the dead body. This idea for a motion picture is great and should be treated with respect.

This is going to rock, I saw an early trailer last year of the new light bike scene and it seems to truly do the original tron justice, we will have to wait and see

The most exciting thing about new Tron movie for me is the appearance of actors from the 1985 picture. It is great that it will not be another prequel/reboot but fully constructed sequel.
