Chinese director Zhang Yimou will be the principal director for the opening and closing ceremonies in Beijing. The strange thing is that Steven Spielberg has signed on as a consultant for the ceremonies. I was kinda hoping for John Woo to work on it. He could have Chow Yun-Fat run around shooting up shit, then pull the toothpick out of his mouth, set it on fire from the Olympic torch and flick it onto the podium, thus starting the Chinese 2008 Olympics.
Either way, the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics are going to give the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics some big shoes to fill.
