Dot Com Moguls John Chow and Stephen Fung recently visited my birthplace of Taiwan for Computex. John had commented that he couldn’t get his evil hands on some mini-size Coca-Cola glass bottles in Vancouver. Stephen stated that he couldn’t get any delicious Mr. Brown coffee locally. I should have made them a bet.
I made a special trip to my local T&T Supermarket and easily found what the two Dot Com Moguls desired. The tiny 237ml bottles of Coca-Cola comes in a 6-pack for $4.99 and the Mr.Brown (flavors: iced coffee, cappucino and Mandheling blend coffee) cans were 89 cents per can. Also notice that I found a tiny can of Coca-Cola too, the Asian tag line of “Refreshing & Uplifting” underneath the logo. For those of you not lucky to have a T&T in your neighborhood, it is a Taiwan based supermarket that offers a lot that could only previously be found in Chinatown. T&T now has 8 locations in British Columbia, 3 in Alberta and 4 in Ontario.

sweet, I love little stores that have stuff like that….nice find!
Not so little actually. I think the smallest T&T is still about 30,000 square foot.
Wow. You’re brave. Venturing into a T&T like that with your stang parked outside waiting for someone to hit it in the parking lot! But I guess you could build a wall of Mr. Brown cans outside of it and that should stop anything.
I’m having my last real Mr. Brown today. Somehow, having Mr. Brown in Vancouver just loses its charm… like Red Bean Starbucks Fraps…
Hahaha, I went to the one in Metrotown and parked up on the rooftop as far away from the danger as possible. I’m gonna keep a few in the fridge now as they sure taste good now that it’s all hot and sunny here. Nice to know that the empty cans are still tough as ever, it’s a workout just trying to crush them.
I haven’t had a Mr. Brown ice coffee in a while…but I do remember that they taste pretty good. LOL @ Stephen…that is very true of venturing into a T&T parking lot…it’s even dangerous just WALKING by!!
Oh T&T I always find a few yummy things there when I drop by at the one in Coquitlam.
I go there for the prepared food when I’m too lazy to cook.
OK, I went to T&T at Coquitlam Center and bought some. I went home and enjoyed one when I noticed that something was horribly wrong. This is NOT Mr. BROWN! This is a joke! It tastes totally off. The can squishes a little too.
So I still stand at you CAN’T buy REAL Mr. Brown in Canada. This is some localized crap drink unworthy of the Mr. Brown designation.
It’s the REAL Mr.Brown, imported straight from Taipei, Taiwan. The cans I bought were unsquishable too. You may have bought another brand. Mr. Brown is not the only one who makes canned ice coffee.
What T&T is selling, has been localized to the North American market. I had like 10 cans of REAL Mr. Brown before I left Hong Kong so I remember the taste well. When I drank the can I got from T&T, I nearly spit it out. It ain’t right. It’s totally watered down. So disappointed. I need to bring a crate of it back next time. I’m sure it’ll survive flying just fine with those heavy duty cans.
I bought the first two cans you show in the picture. Notice they are french and english. The CDN government probably made them alter the formula. It’s totally not the same. Bleh.
Well, no wonder! You never mentioned that you have the flu. Everything is gonna taste like shit when you’re sick.
It is imported by a company located in . . . wait for it . . . Richmond, so of course Canadian import regulations require dual language.
Sure tasted good to me, especially the cappuccino
[...] and I’m certainly not going to go to Richmond to get some. Instead, I traveled to my local T&T Supermarket and picked up some xiao long bao of my own. About 15 minutes in the steamer and I had some yum, [...]
