Was watching the Countdown to 2010 event on TV today, it was held outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. They were revealing a countdown clock that was sponsored by Omega. While I support the Olympics coming to Vancouver, I also understand some people have valid reservations and protests against it. I know the Olympics will boost Vancouver in general, it will also inconvenience some and certainly won’t benefit everybody.
What got me all pissy was the unruly protesters that were in attendance. Although it wouldn’t be a Vancouver public event if there weren’t protestors present. You call yourselves patriots? How the hell do you demonstrate that by heckling throughout the singing of the Canadian anthem? Then some fool decided to jump on stage and swear at the audience members, which consisted of many families who brought their children. Shame on you winos. Just stick to doing what you guys do best, sit around smoking pot while collecting social assistance and complain that no one is throwing change in your hat.
