Plenty of Heart in the Run for the Cure

We are now halfway through the month of August and also halfway through my contest in support of the CIBC Run For The Cure and the sponsorship of my friend Darla as she participates in the run with her family. Thanks to all who have helped out by spreading the word and support through their own blogs.

Extra special thanks goes out to fellow bloggers Michael Kwan and Ed Lau who showed big heart by opening their wallets and contributing $50 and $25 respectively to Darla’s cause. Since every $25 donation earns an extra contest entry, Michael gets an additional two entries and Ed gets an additional one. Thanks guys!

Derek Semmler took things up another notch by offering his own contest over at his blog. In his challenge, Derek will contribute $1 for every contest entry, up to a maximum of $100, matching my financial contribution challenge.

So what are you waiting for? There are now two contests, with some great prizes, tied into the same great cause!

In another related note, Derrich is supporting the The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. It’s great to see bloggers using the power of the internet in support of worthwhile charities and causes, instead of just trying to make money online.

I’m up to 45 entries at my last count so hopefully more people jump in over the next few days to boost that sponsorship for Darla up a little more!

Thanks for doing your part to help publicize the great things that Darla and Derrich are doing in their support of two very worthy causes.

Looks like I’ve got some supporting to do. I can’t believe I missed the causes both Leo and Derrick are supporting. Thanks for the mention, Leo.

Just trying to get your attention, Deryck. No worries.

…and I’m sad that I didn’t make the blogroll on your newly-themed blog. :(

Well, maybe if you had realized that I changed the theme in the first 3 weeks it was live you would be on the blogroll! ;)
