On The Set: “Elegy” and “Eureka”

Glad to see the movie industry finally picking up! Worked on the feature film “Elegy” on Monday, didn’t know anything about the film before arriving on set, so I was very surprised to find that it starred Sir Ben Kinsgley, Dennis Hopper and Spanish beauty Penelope Cruz. Too bad I was driving around in a UPS delivery truck :( Those beasts are hard to drive when your used to driving a sports car, gotta rely on several big-ass mirrors to navigate through traffic and it’s hard to make turns and parallel park with no power steering. Would have love to see Sir Ben act in person, he’s one of my acting heroes.

Elegy Movie Synopsis:

Cultural critic David Kepesh (Kingsley) finds his life — which he indicates is a state of “emancipated manhood” — thrown into tragic disarray by Consuela Castillo (Cruz), a well-mannered student who awakens a sense of sexual possessiveness in her teacher. Based on Philip Roth’s novel “The Dying Animal”.

Director: Isobel Coixet
Writer(s): Nicholas Meyer
Cast: Penelope Cruz, Ben Kingsley, Patricia Clarkson, Peter Sarsgaard, Dennis Hopper, Deborah Harry

Release Date: November 16 2007

Worked on the television series “Eureka” yesterday as a security guard in the Global Dynamics facility. Easy day in the studio and managed to bank a nice 14+ hour work day. After a horribly slow winter, seems like I’m well on my way to getting my financial state back in line ;)

That’s a nice star studded cast for this movie. Make sure you get some pics with Penelope!

Oh, I wish! She is SO beautiful in person, but it would be pretty unprofessional of me to approach her with a photo request. In fact, people have lost their jobs for doing that.
