*Sorry folks! I’ve had to take down the photos due to a request by the producers. I hope to be able to repost them after the miniseries has been aired on the Sci Fi Channel.
Filmed part of a big battle scene at a rock quarry in Coquitlam, for the most part we marched around menacingly in the heavy rain that turned the quarry sand into a milkshake consistency. Had little mini tanks and scouts running around as well as a contingent of men mounted on horses. Those horses sure can pee and poo. Once the sun decided to peek out briefly, production decided to get some of the pyrotechnics out of the way. Pretty impressive little fireball, I guess it reached about 100 feet. In the video the trucks in the foreground give the illusion that the explosion was not that big, the following photo shows some people standing around the area, giving it a relative size comparison. I am excited to see this movie, based on what we have done it should look really great!

Is that up where LaFarge’s quarry used to be (or still is I think)
If you go up Pipeline Rd. on the backside of Coquitlam Centre (east of Pinetree Way)?
Yup! Way up Pipeline Rd.
Cool I used to live on Pipeline and been up there a couple time. I moved 5 days ago hehe
Is that Callum Keith Rennie on the middle horse?
Nope, he doesn’t ride a horse. He walks with the rest of us troopers.
