The new BSG video game comes out tomorrow and is available only for download on the Xbox LIVE Arcade or PC. Made by Sierra online, a division of Vivendi Games, the game features a single player campaign and several multi-player options.The single player campaign runs you through 10 missions and various battles featured in the television series. Multiplayer options include: Deathmatch - Every pilot for himself, up to 16 players; Team Deathmatch – Colonial Vs. Cylon, up to 8 players per team; Domination – Colonial Vs. Cylon, up to 8 players per team.
The players will be able to choose to pilot 8 Colonial and Cylon ships, each with their own pros, cons and special abilities.
It costs 800 Microsoft Point to download off of Xbox LIVE Marketplace. I was a little disappointed to learn that the game was not going to be sold in retail stores. It would have been nice to be able to purchase the full game with collector’s case and manual. Who knows how long it will take to download?

There’s also a free BSG game for the PC, it’s a standalone mod for FreeSpace 2 called “Beyond the Red Line”.

I’m severely disappointed with this BSG game. As I feared, it is just too “arcade-like” for my tastes. Was hoping to have a well finished game. There are no cast appearances either, nor even snippets from the tv show itself. If Grace Park and Tricia Helfer can act on games like Command & Conquer, why couldn’t the developers get some cast cameos too!?
They could but that would kill the budget I presume.
I really didn’t like this game. I was expecting a whole lot more from a game that has the BSG branding onit. I wasted 800 points on it
