More Bloodwork!

As mentioned in a previous post, I had some blood-work done earlier in the week to determine my immunity levels for hepatitis A and B as my employment as an LPO required me to be vaccinated due to workplace risks. Kinda got freaked out when the doctor’s office called me back a couple times for me to come in as the doctor wanted to speak with me. Just what I needed, more stress. I got up at an ungodly hour to make it to the clinic so that I wouldn’t have to wait too long. Had a McDonald’s sausage and egg McMuffin, hash brown and a good old coffee (double double, the Canadian way) as I waited for the doc.

Got called in and was reassured by the doctor that there were no problems, but his first question was, “have you ever had any problems ‘down there’?” OMG, huh? He elaborated by asking if I ever had a bladder disease or anything. Phew! Nope notta thing I proudly say. I think he just wanted to make me sweat a bit. The doctor continues to tell me that he asks because my kidney tests were a bit abnormal, I had a higher creatine count than most. I tell him that that explains why I pump up so easily when I work out and that my old bio-impedance tests (done when I used to work out regularly and wanted to test my body composition) always showed that I had a very high body hydration level even when I had little or nothing to drink . . . and I pee a lot. Apparently a small percentage of the population, 2.5% doctor tells me, fall into my category of having naturally high creatine levels, completely harmless. The result is a very good vascularity and any part of me that fills up with blood, like muscles, can expand quite a bit when flexed . . . or aroused, hehe ;)

Nothing to worry about he continues to assure me, I’m healthy as an Ox! My cholesterol levels are within healthy parameters (yay, more pizza!) but my iron levels may be low, strange considering I eat so much red meat. I guess I need to up my red meat, steak and burgers regimen. All in all it’s nice to be reassured I’m clean and healthy and ready for more unprotected sex, lol.

As for the Hep shots, tests show I am already immune to Hep A, so I do not require further vaccination. However, the lab messed up and did not run me for Hep B immunity. Now I have to fast for 10 hours before I get more blood-work early tomorrow morning :(

I need a burger.
