Mass Effect has mass appeal

So it’s been a while since I made a post. Despite the Writer’s Strike, I’ve been quite fortunate with getting work on feature films. The last couple of days I worked on the big budget feature “Watchmen“. The sets are amazing and the production has extra security to ensure that nothing is leaked out.

All I can say is that we’re doing a big action scene. Already there were people fired because they took photos on set or had their cell phones on set.

Although I’ve been on set I have yet to do anything. I’m just getting paid to hang out and eat :)

Today was by far one of the easiest days as I spent a total of 3 hours sitting around and eating bison burgers with brisket. Due to the rain they are postponing our scenes until next week. I get paid for eight hours anyways, so this unofficial paid post is coming to you courtesy of “Watchmen” ;)

When I’m not busy at work a little game by the name of Mass Effect has taken over my life. From the same creators of Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire, Edmonton-based Bioware has once again churned out another quality RPG game. The cinematics are breathtaking and the advanced storyline creates a rich sci-fi drama that reads like a book. Only you, the player, determines how the story unfolds as every action and comment has its own unique repercussions.

It’s basically a newer, improved version of Knights of the Old Republic. It plays virtually the same with the exception that battles are real time instead of turn-based.

51ao23c-r1l_ss400_.jpgI managed to finish the campaign as the Paragon (good guy) soldier in 40 in-game hours. This is inclusive of completing the various side missions. I am now replaying as the Renegade (bad guy). The cool thing is that replaying the same career (character already developed) means that you don’t start from scratch. You start off at the same level previously left off at the completion of the last campaign, with all the same equipment.

Mass Effect is exclusive to the Xbox 360 console. If you like story-based RPGs and games with extensive re-playability, then Mass Effect is a must-buy for you.

How about some screenshots for those of us too lazy to point our browsers to IGN and the like? =D

There are screenshots in the link I included in the post. Hard to take screenshots on my TV, remember this is for the Xbox 360.

I caught the entry on my phone at work, and trying to navigate most gaming sites from a smartphone is a pain in the ass.

Considering I was seeing people getting fired just for talking on their phones around set, much less taking photos, you aren’t getting any Watchmen photos from me.

I’ve been wanting to get this game for months! The screenshots and videos I have scene are amazing. I still haven’t bought it yet. It seems that I don’t have a chance to do much these days besides work, hang out with my daughter, and work out. I’m still loving Gears of War when I do get some gaming time I’m usually playing that however I plan to purchase Mass Effect sometime this week. I also want to purchase Biosshock.
