Kingston Technology Dinner @ the Space Needle

After a long day of exploring the World Cyber Games in Seattle, the good folks at Kingston Technology invited us out to dinner at Seattle’s famed Space Needle dinery, the Sky City Restaurant.

I have not been to Seattle for at least 15 years and this was my first ever time to the Space Needle :)

With good company in the form of the Kingston reps, dinner started with some red wine and bread. Stephen was sitting all the way across on the far side of the table, so I had no idea if he partook in the wine festivities. I sat myself with the ladies ;)

John had to be different and ordered a margarita, but he soon stole into our wine and also ordered a coffee. He knows how to maximize his dining experience

Appetizers started out with “American” Kobe beef and a goat cheese tart. The beef was good but tasted no different from a regular grade “A” cut with good marbling. I’m not a fan of goat cheese so I didn’t try the tart, anything too gamey and my gag reflex works overtime.

The main course was next and I was excited to dig into my aged prime rib, it was the special of the night and was not listed on the menu. Prime rib is pretty hard to get wrong and practically cooks itself as it ages, one can only mess it up by over-cooking it. I order mine medium-rare.

My cut was a generous portion, cooked to perfection (still mooing) and was very rich in flavor. John seems to believe that I was just being polite but my food really was good. I think they were just jealous. John was not impressed with his shoe-leather pork chops, John’s wife, Sarah, went with a mushroom pasta (we had a hard time finding the mushrooms) and Stephen had the short ribs. Come on, who orders short ribs at a fine dining restaurant in Seattle . . . crackhead ;)

The lovely ladies I was sitting with thoroughly enjoyed their meals of salmon and lobster with scallops.

With barely enough room for dessert, the ladies convinced me to share in a little bit of late-night decadence. Umm, so that sounded wrong. I ordered cheesecake, okay!? New York style cheesecake is my favorite, matched with red wine and I was in heaven. Such a shame that the Whiners (read: Stephen Fung and John Chow) did not like their desserts either ;)

After dinner, instead of going back to my hotel room and rubbing my full belly, we explored the observation deck of the Space Needle. The walk ended up being what I needed to help digest the meal I all but wolfed down. I slept soundly . . . until my roommate Stephen’s snoring woke me up :(

Kingston Technology is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of memory-related products. Based in Orange County, David Leong (Public Relations Specialist) graciously offered to show us around if we were ever in the area. Perhaps a Southern California tour is in order ;)

Extra special thanks to David and crew at Kingston for a spectacular evening! :)
