Oh yeah, Memphis in May is held every year at Tom Lee Park in downtown Memphis. The event is a month long and has a different theme each week.

The Beale Street Music fest is a Friday, Sat and Sun. event and has over 60 bands performing on 3 stages. I just checked the lineup, some good bands lined up this year, depending on your music tastes: Three 6 Mafia, Godsmack, Hinder, Papa Roach, Edwin McCain, Chris Daughtry...

But the real kicker is the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest...

Sadly enough I have never been, might have to give it a whirl this year :)

Mmm, Corky's looks good. I always wanted to head down south and visit one of those huge BBQ cook-offs I always see on the food channel.
The Memphis Platter is a nice sampler with BBQ chicken, sausage, beef brisket, pulled pork, beef ribs, rib ends, seasoned fries, corn bread, potato salad, coleslaw, beans n' pork and their special BBQ sauce.

The reference to Memphis caught my eye as I am from Memphis myself (live an hour away now). And I can tell you, if that tasted half as good as it looks, it'd be a great representation of some true Memphis BBQ. If you guys really wanna try some great bbq, id recommend checking out Corky's BBQ, a Memphis tradition. They are online and even deliver! :)
