Well, get a bunch of actors and film professionals together, throw in a generous amount of booze and some festive cheer and you’ve got yourself a great party.
That’s what we had when my agency, Def Con 5, held our Xmas party for members and friends. The year started out slow for most of us but finished off nicely with the timely arrival of several big budget movies with heavy military/SWAT emphasis. The new year looks promising with the continued filming of Watchmen and I’m already booked for several days on The Day the Earth Stood Still.
It’s also a great time to see a lot of our members relax and have fun, we tend to run ourselves with a certain level of military etiquette and professionalism on set. It’s not for everyone but it has given our agency a great reputation for precision and reliability, many productions now specifically ask for our members by name for this reason. Just how many people out there are trained in the basics of special weapons and tactics?
With the booze flowing freely and the music playing loudly, everybody had a great time. There was also an artist in the house, drawing caricatures for everybody. He did a large group caricature for all the DC5 members. Can you find me?
I think I may have outdone myself on the shooters.
Although we had the room to ourselves for the private party, there were a few exceptions
With my ninja reflexes I pounced on these femmes and staked my claim, you can never be too safe in a room full of drunken actors with weapons training
Kudos to owner Ron Blecker and agent Charlene Pointer for a fantastic Xmas party. DC5 will be celebrating its 10th year anniversary in another eight months, looking forward to that party too!
