. . . And they have a Plan

Now that all the info has been officially released by the Sci Fi Channel, I can finally talk a little bit about the long awaited Battlestar Galactica movie project.

It is listed as a Movie of the Week and is planned for a two-hour format, titled “The Plan”.  Set to air in 2009 after the conclusion of Season 4 and then it will be released on DVD.  Edward James Olmos, who plays Admiral William Adama, is heading the project as Director and the scriptwriter is BSG veteran Jane Espenson.

Here’s some info on the project from their official press release:

Starting before the events of the miniseries, our story focuses on familiar characters including Cylon Number One, known as Cavil (Stockwell), Resistance Leader Sam T. Anders (Trucco) and Chief Galen Tyrol (Douglas). In the beginning, the Cylons had a plan, but it didn’t account for one thing: survivors. During the chaotic aftermath of the destruction, two powerful Cylon agents struggle with plots and priorities on the human ships that got away, and among the resistance fighters who were left behind.

From my understanding the storyline focuses on the “skin job” cylons who are hidden amongst the fleet from the Mini-Series on through Season 2.

Since the story occurs prior to Season 4, expect to see some familiar faces pop up again.

So far I’ve only worked one day on this project but I’m hoping there’ll be some more before it wraps up in the first week of October.  On the day I worked sexy Cylon Number Six, played by Tricia Helfer, was also in the film.
